Hey there, my name’s Robyn. As you can tell, I’m the creator of Hipster Hausfraus. By the way, “hausfraus” is the German term for “housewife.” I graduated from Boston College in 2014; coincidentally, I met my husband while I studied there. We got married as soon as we both finished school. I guess it just conveniently worked out that we graduated the same year. My boyfriend quickly found work as an engineer here in Springfield, while I’ve been completing freelance art-related jobs from home. Hence the name “Hipster Hausfraus.”
More About My Life
That reminds me. I should probably mention that I received a bachelor’s degree in studio art. As I’m sure anyone will tell you, it’s not easy to be an artist right now. And my husband has been making more than enough money for the two of us to live on. That’s why I decided to embrace the housewife lifestyle, on my own terms. I spend most of my time at home, running my own business online. I create all different kinds of art, from canvas paintings to makeup prosthetics, and sell them on websites such as Etsy. In just a short period of time, I’ve gained a very dedicated following! In fact, some of my customers requested buttons and keychains with my shop’s logo. I’m in the process of making a few batches to sell in the next few weeks.
From my own personal experience, selling art on the Internet is one of the best ways to succeed as an artist nowadays. That’s one reason why I’m so obsessed with technology. From e-commerce sites, to social media marketplaces, to DSLR cameras, I need to understand it all to really make my business thrive. And, with my husband being an engineer, it’s no wonder that technology has become one of my main hobbies now. I’ve even been mastering the art of Photoshop and Illustrator to create my own art right on my laptop. In my free time, I’ll be updating Hipster Hausfraus with my own musings and thoughts about some of the newest advances in technology. Have a question? What about a suggestion for a blog topic?
